Dr. Jonathan Mullis, PT, DPT
Owner and President of Mullis and Associates Physical Therapy, Inc, Dr. Mullis has been a physical therapist since graduating from Northeastern University, with his Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy, in 2000. He went on to obtain his Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from Simmons College in 2005 and also completed a one-year fellowship program in the Norwegian Approach to Manual Therapy, at the Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy, in Woburn, MA, in 2002. Over the years, he has also received training in various other manual therapy and myofascial therapy techniques.
Before starting Mullis PT, in August of 2009, Dr. Mullis spent over 8 years at Boston Medical Center and was responsible for managing the Outpatient Rehabilitation Therapies Department for his last 3 years. While at BMC, Dr. Mullis worked with patients from all over the City of Boston and treated patients with a multitude of different diagnoses. He specializes in the treatment of orthopedic injuries of the spine and extremities.
Dr. Katherine Gleason, PT, DPT
Clinic Manager at Mullis and Associates Physical Therapy where she has been employed full-time since August of 2010. She graduated from Northeastern University, in 2006 with her BS in Rehabilitation Sciences and went on to complete her Doctorate in Physical Therapy, at Northeastern, in 2007. She has continually worked to further her physical therapy skills since that time and has completed several advanced courses, including a year-long fellowship program at the Institute of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy, which she completed in December of 2011. The IOMT program is based on the Kaltenborn-Evjenth Concept and is designed to further develop clinical reasoning/assessment skills, hands-on orthopedic manual therapy skills, and therapeutic exercise techniques.
Before joining the staff at Mullis PT, Dr. Gleason worked in the Outpatient Rehabilitation Therapies Department at Boston Medical Center for several years and worked with a wide variety of patients and diagnoses. Besides, her role as a therapist at BMC, Dr. Gleason was also responsible for supervising the co-op program and ran the aquatic therapy program for several years.
Dr. Allie Leblanc, PT, DPTDr. Allie Leblanc joined Mullis and Associates Physical Therapy in Braintree as the Assistant Clinic Manager in June of 2016. She graduated from the University of Connecticut in 2012 with her BS in Allied Health Sciences and a minor in Spanish, and then went on to graduate from the University of Connecticut in 2015 with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Dr. Leblanc grew up in Connecticut, and made the move to Cambridge shortly after graduating to begin her career. Dr. Leblanc has a wide range of experience treating various orthopedic injuries and post-operative cases across the lifespan, as well as specific geriatric balance, walking, and functional movement training. In addition to her physical therapy skills, Dr. Leblanc is a certified Pilates instructor and Pilates Rehabilitation Practitioner. Outside of work, Dr. Leblanc enjoys traveling, staying active by running, doing pilates and yoga, and of course cheering on the Patriots.
Dr. Lindsey van den Dungen, PT, DPT
Dr. Lindsey van den Dungen joined the staff of Mullis and Associates Physical Therapy in September of 2014. She graduated from Utica College in Utica, NY with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy Degree in 2013, where she served as the President of the Physical Therapy Society. Prior to, she graduated from Utica College with her BS in Health Studies in 2011. In 2013, Dr. van den Dungen made the move to Boston, MA to begin her career. Dr. van den Dungen has a wide range of experience from treating overuse/traumatic sport injuries and post-operative knee/shoulder diagnoses to balance, walking and functional training of various complex diagnoses across the lifespan. Her treatments combine therapeutic exercise with manual techniques, functional/sport training, injury prevention and patient education. Dr. van den Dungen has experience with collaborative design and execution of ACL prevention programs for young women.
In addition to her passion for Physical Therapy, Dr. van den Dungen's other passions include playing field hockey for the past 16 years, having played in high school, collegiality at Utica College, as well as internationally for the women's USAAI team in the Summer Sunshine Games in Barbados in 2011. In her spare time, Dr. van den Dungen now also enjoys coaching multiple field hockey teams on the South Shore and in Easton, MA. She also enjoys playing pick-up field hockey with many of her friends. She also takes pleasure in expanding her knowledge of the ever-changing profession of Physical Therapy by regularly attending continuing education courses that help her to provide the best and most up-to-date, evidence-based care for her patients. She also enjoys running road races, yoga, cooking, and cheering on the Patriots and watching ice hockey.
Dr. Jeffrey LeBlanc, PT, DPT, CSCSDr. LeBlanc joined the Mullis and Associates Physical Therapy and Fitness team in June of 2016. He grew up in Waltham, MA, graduating from Waltham High School in 2006 where he played golf, hockey, and baseball. Jeff continued on to the University of Massachusetts - Lowell graduating in 2010 with a BS in Exercise Physiology and a Minor in Nutrition while playing on the golf team there for three years. Jeff worked as a strength and conditioning specialist and personal trainer for three years prior to starting graduate school. He graduated from University of St. Augustine in San Diego receiving his Doctorate in Physical Therapy in April of 2015. Dr. LeBlanc worked in California as a physical therapist for just over a year and made the move back to Boston to continue his career. Dr. LeBlanc has experience treating a variety of orthopedic conditions. While at the University of St. Augustine, Dr. LeBlanc completed all courses in the Manual Therapy Certification to specialize in assessment and treatment of various spine and extremity conditions. In his free time, Jeff enjoys golfing, hiking and surfing, while cheering on local Boston sports teams.
Sonia Mullis, Director of Operations
Sonia is the Director of Operations at Mullis and Associates Physical Therapy. Originally from the Dominican Republic, she has over 15 years of experience in Buying/Marketing and Management. She spent 11 years working in the Merchandising Department at Stop & Shop Super Market/Ahold Headquarters. In her last role as a Category Manager, she was responsible for managing assortment, promotions, promotional budget and buying for 400 stores.
She holds a Bachelor Degree in Hospitality Administration/Management from Pedro Henriquez Urena University, Dom. Rep.
Her hobbies include, spending time with her family, event planning, dancing and listening to music.
Stephanie Schanen-SkimmyhornStephanie is the Billing and Insurance Manager at Mullis and Associates Physical Therapy. Originally from Texas, she has over 10 years of management and administrative experience in various health care fields, including Physical Therapy, Dentistry, Genetic Counseling and Human Resources. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Sciences from Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi. Stephanie is also a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and a Group Fitness Instructor. Her hobbies include running, weight-lifting, traveling, and shopping.
Jenna Amara, MS
Jenna Amara joined Mullis and Associates Physical Therapy as the Fitness and Operations Manager in April of 2015. Jenna graduated with her Master's degree in Exercise Science from Northeastern University in 2014. Prior to that she graduated from Northeastern with her Bachelor's degree in Psychology/Elementary Education in 2010.
Prior to joining Mullis and Associates Physical Therapy, Jenna was the group program manager for Healthworks Fitness Centers for Women in Chestnut Hill, where she managed the group fitness and small group training departments. She started her fitness career in 2008 by becoming a certified AFAA Group Exercise Instructor and began her professional fitness career at Northeastern University. While working at Northeastern's Campus Recreation Center, Jenna helped run the Group Fitness program, trained and mentored new instructors, and taught many different group exercise classes. During this time she also became a nationally certified personal trainer and took on one-on-one personal training clients as well.
Jenna enjoys exercising, traveling, skiing, boating, reading, rooting for the Patriots, and spending time with her family and friends.
