Dr. Jonathan Mullis, PT, DPT
Owner and President of Mullis and Associates Physical Therapy, Inc, Dr. Mullis has been a physical therapist since graduating from Northeastern University, with his BS degree in Physical Therapy, in 2000. He went on to obtain his Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from Simmons College in 2005 and also completed a one-year fellowship program in the Norwegian Approach to Manual Therapy, at the Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy, in Woburn, MA, in 2002. Over the years, he has also received training in various other manual therapy and myofascial therapy techniques.
Before starting Mullis PT, in August of 2009, Dr. Mullis spent over 8 years at Boston Medical Center and was responsible for managing the Outpatient Rehabilitation Therapies Department for his last 3 years. While at BMC, Dr. Mullis worked with patients from all over the City of Boston and treated patients with a multitude of different diagnoses. He specializes in the treatment of orthopedic injuries of the spine and extremities.
Dr. Katherine Gleason, DPT
Dr. Gleason has been employed full-time at Mullis and Associates Physical Therapy since August of 2010. She graduated from Northeastern University, in 2006 with her BS in Rehabilitation Sciences and went on to complete her Doctorate in Physical Therapy, at Northeastern, in 2007. She has, continually worked to further her physical therapy skills since that time and has completed several advanced courses, including Advanced Examination and Treatment of the Cervical Spine and The Aging Athletic Spine.
Dr. Gleason worked in the Outpatient Rehabilitation Therapies Department at Boston Medical Center for several years, before joining the staff at Mullis PT, and worked with a wide variety of patients and diagnoses while at BMC. Besides, her role as a therapist at BMC, Dr. Gleason was also responsible for supervising the co-op program and ran the aquatic therapy program for several years.
Dr. Erin Kahler, PT, DPT
Dr. Kahler graduated from Ithaca College, in 2002, with her Master’s Degrees in Physical Therapy. She then received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from Simmons College in 2007. Dr. Kahler completed a one-year fellowship program, in the Norwegian Approach to Manual Therapy, at the Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy, in Woburn, MA, in 2008 and she continues to further her education by taking various orthopedic evaluation and treatment courses.
Dr. Kahler has worked in several outpatient clinics, including NovaCare Rehabilitation, in Charlotte NC and Boston Medical Center, in Boston, MA. Dr. Kahler is currently one of the senior therapists at BMC where her responsibilities include treating a wide range of patients with various diagnoses, as well as training and mentoring new staff members.
Elizabeth Roncka, PT, CPI
Liz Roncka is a Physical Therapist and Certified Pilates Instructor, who is certified to teach Mat Pilates, as well as Reformer, Cadillac, Chair and Barrel. Liz has had the opportunity to teach Pilates in a variety of settings from private studios, to universities, to physical therapy clinics. In 2007, Liz opened her own studio, Axis Pilates, LLC. Liz’s teaching style is greatly informed by her experiences as a physical therapist and a professional dancer. Liz received her Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from Boston University in 1997 and spent over ten years in clinical practice before focusing exclusively on Pilates training. Liz’s knowledge of anatomy and physiology allows her to give her students a deeper understanding of their own body. For over a decade Liz has been performing modern dance and improvisation both locally and internationally. Her current performance projects include directing her own company lizroncka/Real-Time Performance Project and generating work as part of the Mobius Artists Group. Liz has experienced first-hand how the Pilates method can enhance dance technique, increase endurance and lower the risk of injury. She is thrilled with the opportunity to share this knowledge with young dancers and non-dancers alike. In addition to training on the equipment noted above, Liz has completed continuing education on a variety of subjects including Prenatal Pilates, Pilates for Breast Cancer Survivors, and Pilates for Individuals with Osteoporosis and Scoliosis. Besides training at her own studio, Axis Pilates, in Brookline, she also teaches several mat classes at the The Brookline Ballet School.
Administrative Staff
Stephanie Schanen-Skimmyhorn
Stephanie is the Office Manager at Mullis and Associates Physical Therapy. Originally from Texas, she has over 10 years of management and administrative experience in various health care fields, including Physical Therapy, Dentistry, Genetic Counseling and Human Resources. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Sciences from Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi. Stephanie is also a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and a Group Fitness Instructor. Her hobbies include running, weight-lifting, traveling, and shopping.
Linda Vo
Linda is a Physical Therapy Aide at Mullis and Associates Physical Therapy. She is a 2009 graduate of Winchester High School and completed her freshman year of college at Sacred Heart University. Linda will be continuing her undergraduate studies at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, as a Kinesiology major, in the fall of 2010.
