Dr. Jonathan Mullis, PT, DPT

Dr. Jonathan Mullis

Owner and President of Mullis and Associates Physical Therapy, Inc, Dr. Mullis has been a physical therapist since graduating from Northeastern University, with his BS degree in Physical Therapy, in 2000. He went on to obtain his Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from Simmons College in 2005 and also completed a one-year fellowship program in the Norwegian Approach to Manual Therapy, at the Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy, in Woburn, MA, in 2002. Over the years, he has also received training in various other manual therapy and myofascial therapy techniques.

Before starting Mullis PT, in August of 2009, Dr. Mullis spent over 8 years at Boston Medical Center and was responsible for managing the Outpatient Rehabilitation Therapies Department for his last 3 years. While at BMC, Dr. Mullis worked with patients from all over the City of Boston and treated patients with a multitude of different diagnoses. He specializes in the treatment of orthopedic injuries of the spine and extremities.

Dr. Katherine Gleason, DPT

Dr. Katherin Gleason, DPT

Dr. Gleason has been employed full-time at Mullis and Associates Physical Therapy since August of 2010. She graduated from Northeastern University, in 2006 with her BS in Rehabilitation Sciences and went on to complete her Doctorate in Physical Therapy, at Northeastern, in 2007. She has continually worked to further her physical therapy skills since that time and has completed several advanced courses, including Advanced Examination and Treatment of the Cervical Spine and The Aging Athletic Spine.

Dr. Gleason worked in the Outpatient Rehabilitation Therapies Department at Boston Medical Center for several years, before joining the staff at Mullis PT, and worked with a wide variety of patients and diagnoses while at BMC. Besides, her role as a therapist at BMC, Dr. Gleason was also responsible for supervising the co-op program and ran the aquatic therapy program for several years.

Dr. Marisa Cunha, DPT

Dr. Marisa Cunha

Dr. Cunha graduated from Simmons College in 2009 with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. She had previously graduated from Simmons College in 2007 with her B.S. in Health Science. Dr. Cunha has a clinical background in treating patients of all ages with varying orthopedic issues and excels in educating patients about the etiology of their symptoms. She works with her patients altered movement patterns and posture to restore balance within.

Dr. Cunha prides herself in treating not only the symptoms but the cause of discomfort by means of a whole body approach. She continues to enhance her clinical skills through educational courses focused on manual therapy and myofascial release.

Dr. Amanda Brizendine, DPT

Dr. Amanda Brizendine

Dr. Amanda Brizendine joined the staff of Mullis and Associates Physical Therapy, in September of 2011. She graduated with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Arcadia University in Glenside, PA, in February of 2011. Previous to that she graduated from Lebanon Valley College in Annville, PA, with a BS in Health Science in 2007.

Dr. Brizendine previously worked at another private outpatient orthopedic and sports physical therapy facility and has clinical experience in orthopedics, neuro, and vestibular physical therapy. Dr. Brizendine takes pride in seeing her patients for more than just their diagnosis and enjoys working with all types of patients. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, cheering on the Red Sox, exercising and taking and appreciating photography.

Ashley Arntson, PTA

Ashley Arntson

Ashley joined Mullis and Associates Physical Therapy, in January of 2012. She graduated from the Physical Therapist Assistant program at Montana State University of Great Falls College of Technology, in 2010. Ashley also holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health and Human Performance with an emphasis in Exercise Science from The University of Montana. Before joining the team at Mullis Physical Therapy, Ashley was employed by Adient Orthopedic Physical Therapy in Fairbanks, Alaska. It was while working in Alaska that she improved her orthopedic and sport rehab skills by working with a variety of orthopedic conditions and patients. Besides working in orthopedics, Ashley also has experience with pediatric, aquatic, geriatric, neuro and post-op patients. In her spare time, Ashley enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, skiing, rock climbing, backpacking, and traveling.

Administrative and Support Staff

Stephanie Schanen-Skimmyhorn

Stephanie Schanen-Skimmyhorn

Stephanie is the Office Manager at Mullis and Associates Physical Therapy. Originally from Texas, she has over 10 years of management and administrative experience in various health care fields, including Physical Therapy, Dentistry, Genetic Counseling and Human Resources. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Sciences from Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi. Stephanie is also a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and a Group Fitness Instructor. Her hobbies include running, weight-lifting, traveling, and shopping.

Heather Philben

Heather Philben

Heather is a Receptionist and Physical Therapy Aide at Mullis and Associates Physical Therapy. She graduated from UMass Boston, in 2011, with a B.S. degree in Exercise and Health Sciences. She will be taking a year off to finish pre-requisites and then pursuing a Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy. In her spare time she enjoys reading, going to the gym, and shopping.

Stacy Ruiz

Stacy Ruiz

Stacy is a part-time receptionist at Mullis and Associates Physical Therapy. She recently graduated from Suffolk University with a degree in Global Business and Marketing. Besides working at Mullis PT, 2-3 days a week, Stacy also works at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center as a marketing and recruitment assistant. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, reading, shopping and painting.

Nick Bruno

Nick Bruno

Nick is a Physical Therapy Co-Op student at Mullis and Associates Physical Therapy. He is currently in his fourth year of study, in the Physical Therapy program, at Northeastern University and is on track to graduate in 2014 with his Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT). Nick enjoys running, strength training, hiking, and playing guitar.

Vanessa Peck

Vanessa Peck

Vanessa is a Physical Therapy Co-op student at Mullis and Associates Physical Therapy. She is in the Physical Therapy program at Northeastern University and will be graduating in 2015 with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT). Vanessa lived overseas in Singapore, Thailand, and Malaysia before moving to Boston for School. In her spare time, she enjoys exercising, shopping and hanging out with her friends.

Seri Gordon

Seri Gordon

Seri is a Physical Therapy Co-op Student at Mullis and Associates Physical Therapy. She is currently in her fourth year in the Physical Therapy program at Northeastern University, and is on track to graduate in 2013 with her DPT. Seri is on the Cross Country and Track and Field teams at Northeastern University, where she competes in middle distance events. Seri enjoys eating, exercising, and traveling in her spare time.

Danielle Eilert

Danielle Eilert

Danielle is a Physical Therapy Aide at Mullis and Associates Physical Therapy. She is currently in her fifth year in the Doctorate of Physical Therapy program at Northeastern University, on track to graduate in 2013. Danielle is currently a member of the Northeastern University Dance Company and danced with the Boston Celtics Dancers for a season. Besides dancing, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, running and trying new foods.
